Mrs. Scott is a Registered Psychologist in Alberta and she has over eighteen years of experience in the psychology and counseling fields providing therapy to children, adolescents, adults, seniors and families from diverse backgrounds with diverse mental health issues. Mrs. Scott completed her Master of Arts (M.A) in Psychology in 2005 and has been a registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia since 2010, and a registered Psychologist in Brazil since 2000. In her professional career, Mrs. Scott has worked in both the public and private sectors, including schools, hospitals, and private practice.
Ms. Scott is a registered provider with Blue Cross, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD) and the Workers Compensation Board (WCB). In her private practice, Ms. Scott works with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, paediatricians, occupational therapists, speech and language pathologist, physiotherapists in order to provide support to clients.
Mrs. Scott has a great deal of experience working with children who have Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Specific Learning Disorder (SLD), Giftedness, Depression, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Tics Disorders, etc. Additionally, Mrs. Scott works with people who have difficulties dealing with behavioral, emotional and social issues, including anger management, lack of emotional self-regulation, defiance, social isolation, divorce/ separation, grief/ loss and parenting issues.

According to the client’s needs, Mrs. Scott utilizes a variety of therapeutic approaches, including the evidence-based approaches of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Habit Reversal Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT), and Motivational Interviewing in order to support them. Mrs. Scott offers an environment of acceptance and genuine caring to promote the client’s growth. To help younger children overcome their difficulties and behavioral challenges, Mrs. Scott employs non-directive Play-Based Therapy as an effective approach that provides children with a safe environment to freely express their emotions through play. Parallel to this process, Mrs. Scott provides parents with feedback sessions in order to bring awareness and provide behavioral and coping strategies to better support their child’s mental and emotional well-being at home.
